This is the second update of the fourth edition of this college dictionary first published in 2002. It and the previous editions are based on the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (AHDEL) (4th ed., 2000). Publicity material promises 100 new entries with two on one page—WiFi and wiki. Perhaps the real impetus for individual purchase of this dictionary is that it offers a free download of the AHDEL and Roget’s II: The New Thesaurus, a $34.95 value, which then will appear as a handy icon on Word documents. Also recommended for all libraries that need a new desk dictionary in print format. --Christine Bulson
